Things you knew and you didn’t about the leather pants, explained
The key elements of the leather trousers to consider, are:
- the texture – complexity, sheen and colour
- the design – amount of seams, details and the cut
- the longevity – when faux leathers often seem a more ethical choice, they are not as long lasting as real leather piece
we might have a long discussion about both emergence of the vegan and pu leathers, where I am not a specialist
but here I am mostly to explain the main differences of them in terms of fit and style
the Trendy Leather Pants
the ones we can currently see on the younger Millenial and Get Zs are the slightly loose fitting full length trousers with high waist, worn most oftenly with sneakers or chunky boots, must have for any under 25
this style of trousers is great to accentuate the waist, or to have a very casual everyday look
the Classy Leather Pants
this season are offered in classic Black, Tan or Grey shades, slightly cropped and flared at the bottom, to wear perfectly as with flat shoes so with the heels for going out. My favourite options this season are from H&M and Arket. Unlike designer leather pants that sometimes have too many details, these are pretty versatile. I love showing some leg when I wear trainers. The one I am wearing is from &other stories, bought it back in 2018 but they kept this style
the next one is
the Slouchy one
it has only been out this season, 2020, the boyfriend style leather trouser might seem a bit unusual, but it actually has a very feminine look and is great to accentuate or create additional curves, they look very chic with the heels and with flat ankle boots
the Culottes
while my favourite pair this season is a $2700 white leather culotte by Bottega Veneta, you can shop very pretty options in almost any price range, although it is hard to find them in funky colours, you can always buy a trouser and cut the leg off
the Bold Colour
the real colour statement in a shiny leather is for the confident ones
the Skinny
while it might seem that skinny only works for slimmer legs, they truly work best on the curves
